Critter Acres Kennels, located in Perkins, Oklahoma is a very efficient kennel, where we breed Miniature Schnauzer puppies.  The kennels are cleaned inside and out every morning and evening, and our concrete kennels are heated as well as air conditioned.  The kennels also include a large exercise area for the dogs to use daily.  Automatic watering and feeders are available to the dogs, and they are treated to music everyday.

Although Critters Acres Kennels opened in 2001, we have been raising dogs for 15 years. We decided in 2000 to expand our operation on a larger scale.

We currently have eighteen females and four males. Critter Acres Kennels has a variety of colors, black, salt and pepper, (any shade of gray). We have the darker salt and pepper and the lighter salt and pepper, which is the silver color. We also have white and champagne colors. We are looking to purchase a black and silver schnauzer.

There are no foul odors in my kennels. My adult schnauzers get individual care as well as group attention. I spend time in the exercise yard with them to ensure they all get plenty of exercise. They are groomed on a regular schedule that also includes bathing and cleaning their teeth. Prior to whelping (2 weeks), the dams are fed extra food once daily to ensure healthier puppies and after whelping the food is increased to twice a day, and the automatic feeders are full day and night.

When the miniature schnauzer puppies are one week old, the socializing begins. It is very important to have human contact as soon as possible with the puppies. Holding them close and speaking softly makes them feel safe with me. At 4 weeks old they are taken out of the whelping box so they can learn from the mother to go outside to potty. When the puppies are weaned from the mother is when constant interaction is done with humans. They depend on me totally for their care. After weaning they spend time daily in my office.

By the third day they are completely comfortable being in and around different surroundings. They are not afraid to meet new people and the puppies have developed the best personalities. The customers are able to sit on the floor and the pups will play as long as you want. I offer a one year health guarantee on my puppies.

At 6 weeks of age the puppies will get their first shot of 3 that are needed. Meds are given to remove parasites. The ears are cropped, the tail is cropped, and the dewclaws are removed also.
